Torv’s feature film credits include “Traveling Light” directed by Kathryn Millard, and Ana Kokkinos’ “The Book of Revelation” starring opposite fellow Australian Greta Scacchi. Her most recent credits include the BBC television series “Mistresses” and the cable miniseries “The Pacific” - produced by
Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

While FRINGE was in-production, she divided her time between the studio in New York and Vancouver, and her home territory, the Brisbane/Gold Coast area of Australia.

  • She is estranged from her father, the prominent Australian radio mogul Hans Torv.
  • Her uncle is international media mogul (billionaire) Rupert Murdoch.
  • She has a brother - Dylan.
  • She married season 1 co-star Mark Valley in December, 2008. In April, 2010, she announced they were planning to divorce.
  • She frequently visits her mother Susan, in Benowa, Queensland, Australia, south of Brisbane on the Gold Coast. She considers Benowa her hometown.

  • Torv graduated with a degree in the Performing Arts from the National Institute of Dynamic Arts NIDA, University of New South Wales - Sydney, Kensington, NSW, Australia, in 2001.
  • Torv attended Benowa High School.

• Dunham is... "an FBI agent, who... all of a sudden is exposed to this whole other world and is kind of forced to deal with it, which she does. She sort of tends to take on all the responsibility she can get. She has a real sense of duty."

• She adds... "we were able to talk to a retired FBI agent, which was fantastic... these people that do these kind of jobs have just such a strong sense of duty. Like, a strong sense of duty and just total focus and tunnel vision... high expectations of themselves, too. And I think Olivia really does fall into that category."

• Her character... "has a take-charge approach to most given situations - and having that military background doesn’t really prepare her for what’s to come - but doesn’t prevent her from wanting to figure out the mystery presented to her either..." and "I think she’s use to hard work and, like, following the trail, and the stuff that she’s dealing with is horrific, because it’s huge..."

• About the show... "there’s always this over-riding thing that follows you that you can’t quite get to the bottom of." - (to online fans in a June 2011 tweet session from Bad Robot Headquarters in Santa Monica, CA, just as she was getting ready to sit down and brainstorm Season 4 with the executive producers.)
