David Esterbrook led INtREPUS's Pharmaceutical Research Division.
About
- He was responsible for the illegal human experimentation with radio-activity that killed Emily Kramer and a diner full of innocent bystanders. He actively treated Claire Williams with a similar drug therapy, with the intent of delivering her as a living bio-weapon to an unknown customer.
- Doctor Nadim Patel implicated Esterbrook in his final words, just as he committed suicide with a pistol.
- He was confronted by Olivia Dunham at a humanitarian aid forum in Manhattan. She deliberately misrepresented herself in the interview and got some insight into his darker nature. When she revealed her identity to him, he thinly veiled a threat about her future and raising a family. Broyles caught wind of her interview, in short order, and warned her about intimidating individuals like Esterbrook, because of the scrutiny it brings with it.
- Esterbrook's secret lab was revealed by Nina Sharp. She informed Peter Bishop, on his request, and he forwarded the information to Olivia for action. After the illegal lab was raided, Olivia arrested Esterbrook at his office, parading him publicly outside the building in front of the press she had notified beforehand. Esterbrook's arrest led to a dramatic, and immediate, drop in the value of INtREPUS stock.
- Esterbrook was considered solely responsible for an aggressive congressional lobbying campaign to allow INtREPUS Inc. to proceed with controversial research and development in; prenatal gene therapy, human–animal hybridization studies, and viral warfare, among others.
- His IRS forms indicate Medical & Dental Expenses of $475,000, Contributions to Charity of $335,000, and Professional Expenses of $241,000.
Quotes
"I’m gonna let you in on a little secret, Amanda. It isn’t about the money. It is about the resolve." - (to Olivia, hinting that he is working for a greater purpose than just profit)
Trivia
- The address is 219 Jortner Way on his Massachusetts Drivers License.
- There is no Jortner Way in the greater Boston Area, but, Dr. Joshua Jortner is a cutting-edge physical and theoretical chemist known for explorations into the phenomena of energy acquisition, storage and disposal in isolated molecules, clusters, condensed phases and biophysical systems. He made outstanding contributions to the understanding of the dynamics of complex chemical systems from large molecules to biomolecules. Theories involve electron transfer - including charge separation in photosynthesis and in biopolymers, and through the establishment of cluster size effects and dynamics of large finite systems from clusters to ultracold gases. His work pioneered the concept of structure-dynamics-function relations for biophysical and chemical change. His scientific contributions had an audible impact on the development of chemical dynamics, photoselective laser chemistry, ultrafast chemistry, molecular electronics and nanoscience.
