The Child will become an Observer
Described Hypothesis:
The Child will become an Observer -- originally posted by Pek123
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. The Observer the audience always saw was bald, and he didn't have the same olfactory and taste sense like other people. The Child is also bald. -- originally posted by Pek123
  2. The way the Observer can tell what Peter was saying was through empathy, just like how the Child is connected with Olivia and the demolition worker who rescued him, feeling their emotions. -- originally posted by Pek123
  3. The Child wrote his messages to Olivia from right to left, just like the Observer, though in upside-down English. -- originally posted by Evil Joe
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. Walter explained that the Child's baldness is attributed to the lack of in-take of minerals. The observers are exposed in the natural environment and yet they are bald. -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 16:16, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

The Child is an Observer
Described Hypothesis:
The Child is one of many observers. -- originally posted by Areiss
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. The man from child services/CIA made a phone call saying that another one has been found. -- originally posted by Areiss
  2. The child being a child does not prevent him from being an observer, it may actually enforce that theory. All of the observers seen so far do not appear to be the same age, and they are named after months with the older ones being named after months later in the year than the younger ones (Observer named August looks older than Observer named July, Observer December looks to be the oldest). With that in mind, the observers named for the earlier months of the year would have to appear much younger than those named for later years, so an observer named, say, January or February would have to be an adolescent or a child. There is also nothing that says they dont age, simply that we dont see it (perhaps they age much much slower than we do, or they appear to be the same age at each event in history at which they are spotted because they have travel through time to witness that event. One of them, August i believe died, so we know they are mortal, which suggests that they do age.) Also Walter's explanation for the child's lack of hair and color could simply be a theory, or Walter could be hiding his knowledge about the observers --737
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. The Child being a child undermines the most basic facet of the Observers: the Observers are adults who move through time as adults observing. The idea of an Observer being a child runs counter to their agelessness. -- originally posted by sobrien
  2. The Child doesn't exemplify the ability to predict or see the future. -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 16:16, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
  3. Observers speak. The Child does not. Therefore the Child is not an Observer. (yet) -- –DocH my edits

Mirror Imaging
Described Hypothesis:
The Child, an empath, reflects thoughts and impressions back on the individual they are connected with. –DocH my edits
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. Olivia, concerned for the Child when she was talking with Michaels, looked back into the hospital room and saw a mirror image of the Child. –DocH my edits
  2. Peter was bonding with the Child when he remembered aloud that, as a child, his identical G.I. Joe had the scar on the opposite side. –DocH my edits
  3. The Observer was able to mirror Peter's thoughts and instantly say (reflect) what Peter was thinking. –DocH my edits
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. The only reason Olivia and Peter saw a reflection of thoughts is because they are empaths too... The Child can't connect anyone that is not. –DocH my edits

The Child is as old as the Observer
Described Hypothesis:
The Child may be as old as the Observer, gaining empath skills in whatever circumstances provided them to the Observer. –DocH my edits
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. The Child was apparently sealed up for seventy years. –DocH my edits
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:

The Child's language
Described Hypothesis:
The "language", heard through the neural stimulator, may be English (or another common language) played backwards. -- originally posted by Bradwilcox
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. The Child's writing (upside down) when observed is written from right to left, or backwards of typical English. -- originally posted by Bradwilcox
  2. Immediately before the neural stimulator is cut off, Walter says to grab a tape recorder, which could have been used to play the recording backwards. Suggesting that either Walter understood and/or that the viewer should do so. -- originally posted by Bradwilcox
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:

:The Child is a Cortexiphan kid —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lochness (talkcontribs) .
Described Hypothesis:
The child was treated with Cortexiphan —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lochness (talkcontribs) .
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. He has a strong link with Olivia —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lochness (talkcontribs) .
  2. He has strong perceptive abilities —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lochness (talkcontribs) .
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. None of the test subjects developed perceptive skills or links with Olivia besides Nick Lane. –DocH my edits
