Linda is a receptionist at the Geotechnical Engineering Division of Vitas Petrol, in Boston. She was nearby when a fatally infected man exited the elevator into her office, collapsed, died and expelled an aggressive pathogen into the air. Linda became infected, displayed symptoms, then jumped from the high-rise building to her death.
