- Matt Jarvis has an immune deficiency and relies on a treatment provided by the triad.
- Matt Jarvis suffers from a rare immune deficiency disorder. His body does not produce enough white blood cells to fight off infection. His mother, Elizabeth Jarvis, wires money to Beijing Executive Construction (a front of Sun Hong Triad) as a payment for the treatment needed by Matt. Dr. Che is Matt's surgeon, he inserts the medicinal powder, which came from the lymph gland of a supersized bio-engineered hookworm, directly into his spleen.
