Morgan Steig travels with Flight 627, passenger #108 in seat 13 B on. En-route to Logan International Airport, he injected himself with an insulin pen, unknowingly it contained "The Contagion". The skin on his face and hands decayed rapidly and affected all passengers. All what is left in the plane are transparent bodies and dead corpses.

Olivia identifies Richard Steig through synaptic transfer. The facial reconstruction through Olivia's description leads to identification of Morgan Steig. Looking through his records, he lists Richard Steig as his emergency contact. Richard Steig looks exactly similar to Morgan Steig, presumably the two are identical twin brothers.
