In Power Hungry, Pigeons are used by Walter Bishop to track the location of Joseph Meegar.

According to Dr. Bishop, pigeons contain traces of magnetite in their beaks - like hundreds of tiny compass needles. He then used Tesla Coils to create an artificial electromagnetic field to match Meegar's unique signature.

Along with Astrid Farnsworth, Bishop attached GPS chips to the pigeons to track them and guide law enforcement toward Meegar and Dr. Jacob Fischer.
