"First People"
Described Hypothesis:
Sam Weiss was one of the "first people".
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. He told Olivia (Olivia. In The Lab. With The Revolver.) "I'm older than I look. I barely remember my childhood.". – Fred 14:29, 1 December 2010 (MST)
  2. The chalkboard in Walternate's old lab in Harvard (Over There, Part 2) has the phrase "A DEMON'S TWIST RUSTS". This is an anagram for "DON'T TRUST SAM WEISS". – Fred 14:29, 1 December 2010 (MST)
  3. The book The First People (6955 kHz) was written by Seamus Wiles and published in 1897. Seamus Wiles is an anagram for Samuel Weiss. – Fred 14:29, 1 December 2010 (MST)
  4. Weiss seems to confirm to Nina (Concentrate And Ask Again) that he wrote all the copies of The First People. --Dzacharias 12:11, 7 February 2011 (MST)
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. At NO POINT (Concentrate And Ask Again) did he confirm or suggest that he authored the antique books. Nina presented her personal circumstantial speculation. He neither confirmed, nor denied, his authorship. -- –DocH my edits
  2. Astrid, after reading the book, "You don't actually believe this? An ancient people who evolved before the dinosaurs just vanished without a trace." and Peter, while reading, "according to this... something happened, some sort of cataclysm that so completely decimated the First People, they were just wiped out of the historical record." -- Conclusion -- Sam Weiss cannot be a member of an extinct race. If he were, the race would not be extinct. - –DocH my edits

Weiss was the first Shapeshifter
Described Hypothesis:
I believe that Sam Weiss was the first Shapeshifter that Bell made. He was used to help establish a communication link between Nina and Bell. --Frink 04:34, 28 January 2011 (MST)
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. He said he was a lot older than he looks and taller than he appears. His original body could have been taller before shifting shape and he could have looked like he does now for decades. --Frink 04:34, 28 January 2011 (MST)
  2. The episode where the shapeshifter policeman had human feelings for 'his' family, and then was eliminated after assaulting Walter. Sam could be a shapeshifter that developed an affinity for humans, and knows things that can help 'our' universe solve it's conflict with Walternate's universe. If he went 'rogue', would a shapeshifter ever think of looking for another one in a bowling alley?
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. the date of the editions of The First People predate Bell's work (1897). However, could be part of Walter's Dad's work in 1930's Germany which ties in with the episode with the nazi dude and his 'designer smoke'.
