September
I removed the name "September" as an alias for The Observer. There is no source for this information. --Dennis 15:02, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- - TV.com[1] credits Michael Cerveris as portraying "September." Is that the Observer's name?--Jim 17:59, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- - I've looked into this, and the name September comes from an early press release for the episode[2]. Obviously they were not going to put "The Observer" in the press release, so I don't consider it canon. He was not credited as September in the actual episode of on the Fox website. --Dennis 19:41, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
Director
Are Paul Edwards and Paul A. Edwards the same person, per IMDB?--Jim 00:32, 5 October 2008 (UTC) They are per the IMDB--Jim 02:56, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- - Yes. The Canadian Directors Guild is listing him as Paul Anthony Edwards for the filming he is doing this and next week. –DocH– my edits 19:31, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Subliminal Messages
Anyone notice that in the previous episode, in the hospital scene, just after you see the observer a sign can be seen on the wall which portrays The Beacon? (Email me at comrade.christoh@gmail.com for a screenshot) This happened earlier on with a sign with a rose and a pen on it, hinting at Dr Penrose. Maybe there's a hidden sign/signal in each episode?--FractalP 11:04, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- - If you have the image, please share it by uploading it here. Thanks.--Jim 13:22, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- - This "next episode" clue is in every episode so far. See: [3]. Should we add this as an ongoing feature to every episode? -- Dennis Talk Contribs 16:44, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- - No, unless we add it to episode X in the general format of, "In episode X-1, this episode was featured in...." There's a fine line here between clues and spoilers. I like being in the dark.--Jim 17:49, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- - Yes, that's the idea. In Episode 4 wiki page, put the clue that was in Episode 3, that points to episode 4. See what I put in The Arrival, under The Arrival#Next Episode Clue. -- Dennis Talk Contribs 20:27, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- - Yes, as executed.--Jim 23:19, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Lens Flare
Did anyone notice there was an inordinate amount of lens flair in this episode? I don't believe this is a coincidence... and I don't think it's a stylistic decision. I believe there is something to it. Anybody else notice this?--Gardinerm 18:59, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Typo on Massive Dynamic sign
I have found a typo on the Massive Dynamic sign that is attatched to the crane that collapses at the begining of the episode. It reads "Massive Dynamics" when it should read "Massive Dynamic". I have added this in the "bloopers" section of the article. I have also uploaded a screenshot, but decided not to add it to the article, but if anyone wishes to see it, it can be found at :Media:MDsign_typo_104_theArrival_resized.png|png. Sadly I don't know how to simply "link" to an image from the wiki. --Moo 18:51, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- - You can insert a link by having a colon in front of the image name (see edit window): [[:Media:MDsign_typo_104_theArrival_resized.png]]. You can also add a pipe symbol and display a word linking to your image (see edit window): [[:Media:MDsign_typo_104_theArrival_resized.png|My image]]--LabGo 19:13, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- - Thank you! I suppose that there would be no objection if I added a link to the image in the article then? --Moo 19:28, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- - Go ahead. Contributions are welcome. Of course your addition may be edited, altered or even removed by other editors but this is what a wiki is all about!--LabGo 19:37, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- - Alright! I added the link. I was just bored this morning and I was watching the episodes I had recorded and when I found this I just HAD to share it. :) --Moo 19:47, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
- - Good. Regardless of whether we agree or disagree with you, come back and edit often. To misquote my comrades in the Marine Corps, "We're looking for a few good editors."--Jim 20:09, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
UAQ Removal
Comparing the second characters in the years, Does Robert Bishop's grave marker read "AUG. 21, 1812 - DEC. 11, 1944"?
- - I pulled the UAQ here because it is 1912, not 1812. I rewatched in digital, screencap'd, enlarged, and enhanced that and it is the same stylized 9 in both years. The flashlight washed out alot of the image on the top date. –DocH– my edits 00:56, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- - Okay!--Jim 01:11, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- - 1944 also begs the question, was he even really Walter's father? In Pilot, Walter had a DOB of 1946. Either his mother had some kind of decelerated pregnancy, or the writers can't count!
More Errors
The Marine Master Sergeant featured in the photo shown to Olivia was taken in 1987. Neither the digital uniforms were available yet, nor the newer "german" style helmets. Additionally, the field goggles were not standard issue until Desert Storm. Finally, the MSgt's hair is way way too long. I was in Quantico in 1987 and involved in testing. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by AzWebFoot (talk • contribs) .
- - That begs the question - were they in another (parallel) universe? The MICH/ACH helmet is mostly French (ear flare). The brow (less pronounced) is German. Test at Quantico in '87 --- Cortexiphan??? You are obviously not a US Marine. The 'gogs have been available, in different iterations, for generations. –DocH– my edits
The birth certificate to which the picture of Walter and young Peter was attached was dated 1999, for a boy named N??? Richard Beltran born in NYC. See screencap 564 at FringeFiles, though the name is mostly visible in a frame not captured. Presumably Bell might have still been using the lab in 1999, but why attach a Bishop picture to a random child's certificate? Most likely it's a props error, but in a show where so many clues appear in only a few frames, one can't be sure. -- jophan
- - Kyle Richard Beltran. Mother was Amy Beltran. Her maiden name was Amy Staffa** (?). Kyle was born in Manhattan. Did not see a father listed. The picture was not "attached" to the certificate, it was tucked under the elasto-band around the other document. False logic... you assume that the document and photo are connected. There is nothing that was suggested or seen that connects the two. I have a passport, birth certificate, bank book, SSN card and some photos lumped together too. They are not necessarily related because they have a stretchy cord around them. In Context. Peter was in the lab to pack his stuff, get important personal documents and move away from Walter because of the blow-out they had just had. If I had to make a logical guess - I would say that the birth certificate (important personal document) was for the son that Peter had out of wedlock when he was 21. In a moment of nostalgia, or safekeeping, Peter tucked a youthful photo that he had of himself and his father in with his copy of the birth certificate for his son Kyle. -- –DocH– my edits 22:41, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- - Here is the fun part. If Amy had a child by Peter AND she had a maiden name WAS she married to someone (Beltran) other than Peter when Peter got her pregnant? (We may find out in Season 6 -- are you my daddy?) –DocH– my edits
Hospital Reference?
Was the hospital in Quincy where Olivia found a shot of the Observer the same hospital in The Same Old Story? -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 12:19, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- - I believe they were. But they never confirmed it in the show(s). Wallace Bromley Medical in 102 was never said to be in Quincy. And when she said Quincy in 104, she never said Wallace-Bromley. But - the episodes were 2 weeks apart, and she says he was there 'with us', and you can see the back of a blonde pony-tail with FBI agents nearby in the photos of The Observer. So - unconfirmed = yes. -- –DocH– my edits
