Next Episode Clue

'Super Genes' is written on the poster next to the door

At the beginning of What Lies Below, Walter is complaining about losing his season pass to the museum. To the right of a door in the background, there is a sign that says, "Super Genes." That's my guess. This refers directly to the assassin's targeting specific genes, and also references the Nazi's aims at achieving racial purity. Also, if the NEC for What Lies Below ends up referring to Magellan, then this NEC is very close to the literal event that the previous NEC was referring to. Bdore 06:06, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind me uploading a readable version of it.
- Nice catch there! I am not sure with this, but the bag of the courier has a sign that looks like a black swastika in red background. If indeed it is, then that could also be a NEC. -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 07:33, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Recurring Theme

- I am not sure if this should go to recurring theme (or possibly episode reference). The seahorse signature in the toxin in this episode seems to have a similarity to the signature of ZFT in the DNA in the episode In Which We Meet Mr. Jones. -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 07:36, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

There is an Embryo Apple on the rest of a chair in Walter's lab. --Mewtwo 13:21, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
- The Apple thing was already loaded in the 'general trivia' section of the episode page - with an image link. The DNA Signature thing seems solid. -- –DocH my edits 01:22, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

UAQ

- Why was Peter not affected? In the episode, Peter asked Walter why is he after YOU, so I think it is given that the toxin is designed specifically to target the DNA of Walter and not the Bishop family. -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 20:41, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- As we know, the man broke into the Bishop's house and stole Walter's sweatshirt. He used DNA that he extracted from Walter's sweatshirt to create a toxin that would target ONLY Walter's DNA. Unless Peter were a clone of Walter, which we know to be untrue, Peter would not have the same exact DNA as Walter, and would be unaffected. This is the same principal applied to Walter's toxin, which targeted ONLY people with the man's DNA at the conference. --Torma616 22:25, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Should we note a resemblance to another series?

Did anyone who watches Star Trek: TNG notice that this episode bares some striking similarities to the episode, The Vengeance Factor? In both episodes (Fringe/TNG), an exceptionally long-lived member (the Nazi guy/Yuta) of a hateful group (the Nazis/the Tralesta clan) has their youthful appearance preserved, and that person assassinates people with a weapon (toxin/microvirus) specifically engineered to target the victims' DNA and no one else's. Is that worthy of note on Trivia or elsewhere? -- Nonoitall 06:08, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
