The Pen And The Rose
Somebody claimed on the FOX wiki that in episode one an icon of a pen and a rose is seen—hinting at the appearance of Dr. Penrose in the second episode. That comment has since been taken down. Can anyone confirm that? Ninjatacoshell 15:05, 24 September 2008 (UTC)- Confirmed.--Jim 18:28, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
What Is The Pattern?
We are three shows into FRINGE and the term "Pattern" is used repeatedly. To date, it can best be described as a collection of illogical or unexplained incidents. There is little here that can be called a theory, but....
Episode links:
- Clones: If the Steigs are clones rather than brothers, then Pilot and The Same Old Story may be related.
- Chemicals: Unknown chemicals are used to commit multiple murders in Pilot and The Ghost Network.
- Strange backgrounds: Christopher Penrose and Peter Bishop
- Others?
People:
- Clones (again).
- People who speak conversational Latin (There's nothing anti-clerical here).
Lies:
- Nina lies to Dunham.
- Broyles lies to Dunham.
- John Scott lies (by actions) to Dunham.
- Broyles pretends he's working for DHS while he reports to some committee.
- Everyone lies to Dunham? Jim 00:11, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
The Pattern is a sequence of scientific events that Dr. Walter Bishop researched and discovered 20 years before. Using the scientific method, he and the yet to be named founder of Massive Dynamic found a parallel universe that was a labyrinth new ideas that made Walter mad (insane). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Starbucks 107 (talk • contribs) . 9 April 2009
Additional Content
Does anyone agree/disagree that this article should be updated for all events from each Fringe episode? They are technically also events of the Pattern.--UrPQ31 02:15, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
- - They are not. No Fringe Division case is part of the Pattern until someone on Fringe says - this seems to fit the Pattern. –DocH– my edits
Related Cases?
I was wondering if we also need to put in related cases? In Equation, Ben Stockton is the focal point of the abduction case, but the case is connected to Dashiell Kim and the abducted structural engineer. Same with The Same Old Story, the case Olivia and Scott investigated.
- - No. None of what you just added to the Portal was mentioned, or referred to as a case that fits the Pattern. They (the show) have have to call it part of the Pattern - NOT YOU. They did not. So you can not. The portal was well and good. Even a review of Olivia's pin map at the end of the season did not add anything extra to the mix - your additions are folly and not an established Fringe Fact From The Show. --- –DocH– my edits 17:28, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

- Davidson stated about the connection of the drug cartel and the pattern in The Ghost Network. Not to be included? Why include Morales' statement on The Pattern being a hoax?
- As far as I understand, the Pattern is a strange/unexplained phenomenon and being a part of the series of the crime of the actual case, it makes it connected to The Pattern, why bring it up if it is not connected to the Pattern?
- Not all cases investigated in Season 2 can be concluded as part of the Pattern; especially they never specifically indicated that the case is indeed part of the Pattern. So are we to exclude these cases?
- - Davidson stating that an agent (that he was double crossing) "heard" that a drug cartel was talking about the Pattern is not "A Case", it is "Hearsay". Morales directly naming the Pattern, people and organizations to a Federal Agent is not hearsay, it is admissible evidence. The Pattern is the odd phenomena that the earlier Fringe Division and Massive Dynamic were tracking. Nothing in Olivia's first year added to that Pattern other than what was listed on the Portal. Season Two can be totally excluded because I just finished watching the S2 DVD Box set extras... and they have a great segment the refers to all of the oddities in S2 as "Beyond The Pattern". Yep -- 2.01 and after is "Post Pattern". -- –DocH– my edits 21:37, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
