The Beacon is the 39th piece of the First person weapon.
Described Hypothesis:
The 38 known parts of the First Person weapon/device were distributed around the world and marked to be found as if it was an intelligence test. The Beacon as the final piece adds the puzzle of how to stop it from escaping
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. The Beacon is broadcasting a signal of an unknown type.
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. The Beacon may be a device from a third party (Observers) designed to travel thru the planet to locate and/or monitor the buried components. –DocH my edits
  2. It may be the last component, or 39th, but there were 60 total locations identified, not 38. There is less than a 1-in-59 chance this the device is 39th - if at all. –DocH my edits



The man chasing the beacon is a shape shifter
Described Hypothesis:
He has the identity of a low level drug dealer, but the absolute late of fear and confidence in his indestructibility exhibited by the shape shifters.
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. He has access to technology similar to that exhibited by 'the other side' such as the telepathic monitor and force gun.
  2. He is chasing the beacon a technology that may belong to the First People.
     Contradictory Facts and Contradictory Evidence:
  1. Nether the telepathic monitor or the force gun is exactly the same as items we have seen on the other side.
  2. It is not confirmed that he "bleeds" mercury like most shapeshifters.



The beacon comes from the alternate universe
Described Hypothesis:
Moments after the Observer steps out of the diner and before he calls, there is a blue flash of light (on both occasions) which are similar to the ones that appear when an universe is crossed.
     Supporting Facts And Supporting Evidence:
  1. The flash of light that is emmited is similar to the one that appears when the universe is switched (from alternate to this one or vice versa).
  2. The Beacon is of "Unknown Origin".

John Mosley has super sensitive hearing
Described Hypothesis:

Described Hypothesis:

  2. The beacon is made up of iridium, the same compound that was found in Roy McComb, who is able to intercept the ghost network. The beacon could have been receiving and storing information. -- Xerophytes Talk | Contribs 15:19, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
